 The Amazing Chase
DAY/TIME: Saturday at 1 p.m., awards at 4 p.m.
LOCATION: Central Park
DESCRIPTION: Teams will race through the heart of Grinnell by following clues, similar to the hit television show Amazing Race. Clues may contain photographs, hints, puzzles, riddles, challenges, trivia, specific directions or some combination of these. Teams will travel by foot to clue destinations where they’ll complete crazy challenges!  There is no set course which will make strategizing a valuable tool.  The race is designed for everyone from near and far, and we try our best not to give locals an unfair advantage. Anyone who can think and move quickly has a chance at winning!  Internet use, phoning-a-friend, and questioning strangers are encouraged. The dash will begin at 1 p.m. and end by 4p.m. at the downtown block party in Central Park. To add to the fun, teams should come dressed in matching or themed costumes.  So, what are you waiting for? Create a team, sign up, plan outrageous outfits and get ready to be challenged physically and mentally in Grinnell’s Amazing Chase!
ENTRY FEE: $45 per team (entry fee is non-refundable)
PRIZES: $1,000 first place team.

There will be a team spirit award! Team are encouraged to be creative and have fun with their team names and outfits. A Team Spirit prize will be awarded at the conclusion of the race.

Grinnell Games shirts will be provided for those who register before May 25. Shirt sizes and availability are not guaranteed for those who register after May 25.
DIVISIONS: Teams consist of two people

Family Teams may consist of up to four people, two of which must be under age 18. You do not need to be related.
PARTICIPATION: All are welcome regardless of athletic ability.
WHAT TO BRING: A camera to complete challenges and document memories
Comfortable shoes and matching costumes
A smart phone, laptop, or on-call Googler to assist in answering clues
REGISTRATION: Check-in and day-of registration will be Saturday, June 9, from noon to 12:45 p.m. in Central Park. Note: Grinnell Games shirts will be provided for those who register before May 25. Shirt sizes and availability are not guaranteed for those who register after May 25.
